Google review stand with QR and NFC

Customers scan the code or tap their phone and the review window opens straight away. Design your table stand with an NFC sticker pocket and download a print-ready 3MF.

1 · What should the code open

Your venue's menu, your reviews page or the guide for your guests… If you don't type https:// we add it for you.

2 · Dot style
3 · The two colors

These are the colors of the printed object: one for the base and one for the raised code and text.

4 · Code center (optional)

On the 3D object the logo is raised, in a single piece, in the code color.

5 · The 3D object
Format

Short and clear: your business name or a call to action. You can include an emoji: it is raised too. Up to 22 characters.

70 mm

The bigger, the easier to scan. Make sure it fits on your print bed.

The 3MF file is the recommended format: it contains both colors and both parts. The STL is for older printers and software: two files without color.

How it works

3 steps, no 3D design skills needed

1

Copy your review link

In your Google Business Profile tap “Ask for reviews” and copy the link (it starts with g.page/r/…). Your Place ID, starting with ChIJ, works too.

2

Design the stand

Pick colours, add your logo or a star in the middle and the text “Leave us a review”. The NFC sticker pocket is already at the bottom of the ramp.

3

Print, stick and write the NFC

Stick a 25 mm NTAG213 or NTAG215 NFC tag in the pocket and write the same link to it with a free app such as NFC Tools. From then on customers can scan or tap.

Ideas

Where it works best

Right where happy customers are leaving: paying, collecting or saying goodbye.

Restaurants and bars

On every table or on the bill tray. That’s when customers have their phone in hand and the experience is fresh.

Hair and beauty

On the counter next to the card reader. While you take payment, they’re already looking at the stand.

Clinics and practices

At reception, for the reviews that matter most when choosing: those of other patients.

Shops

Next to the till or in the fitting room. One stand per counter is enough.

Hotels and holiday lets

At reception or by the exit door, right at check-out.

Gyms and schools

At the entrance: regulars leave the most reviews when you make it easy.

Why a review stand works

Most happy customers don’t leave a review because they forget or can’t be bothered to look you up. The stand removes the in-between steps: the “Ask for reviews” link opens the rating window directly, without searching for the business on Google Maps. Placed where customers wait —paying, collecting an order— it turns “I’ll do it later” into a review in thirty seconds.

QR or NFC: better both

QR works with any phone with a camera. NFC is even quicker: just tap the phone on the sticker. Every Android phone with NFC reads it, and iPhones from the XS onwards read it without opening any app (iPhone 7 to X need the NFC tag reader in Control Centre). With both on the same piece, nobody is left out.

Which NFC sticker to buy and how to write it

  • Format: round, 25 mm, adhesive. The stand’s pocket is 26.5 mm wide and 0.6 mm deep, so it sits flush.
  • Chip: NTAG213 (144 bytes, enough for a g.page link) or NTAG215 for extra room. They sell in packs of 10 for a few euros.
  • Writing it: with the free NFC Tools app, go to “Write” → “Add a record” → “URL”, paste your review link and hold the phone to the sticker.
  • Locking it: NFC Tools can write-protect the tag so nobody can change the link. It’s irreversible, so do it after checking it works.

What Google allows and what it doesn’t

Asking for reviews is allowed and recommended by Google. What its policies forbid is offering something in return (a discount, a free dessert) and asking only happy customers while filtering out the rest. A stand visible to every customer, with no reward, ticks both boxes.

If you print with a single extruder, note that the angled stand needs two colours at once. As an alternative, pick the plate with a hidden NFC pocket: the tool tells you which layer to pause at to drop in the sticker and which layer to change colour.

FAQ

What people ask before printing

Where do I get my Google review link?
In your Google Business Profile (in Search or the Google Maps app, signed in with the business account) tap “Ask for reviews” and copy the link. It starts with g.page/r/. You can also use your Place ID, which starts with ChIJ.
Does NFC work with iPhone?
Yes. iPhones from the XS onwards read NFC tags with the screen on, without opening any app. iPhone 7 to X need the NFC tag reader in Control Centre. On Android it works on any phone with NFC switched on.
Which NFC sticker do I need?
A round 25 mm tag with an NTAG213 or NTAG215 chip. The stand’s pocket is 26.5 mm wide and 0.6 mm deep, so it sits flush with the surface.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. Google’s policies forbid offering incentives for reviews and asking only satisfied customers. Ask everyone, with no reward.
Can I print it without an AMS or multi-material?
The angled stand needs two colours at once. With a single extruder pick the wall plate with “Pocket for an NFC sticker” and “Hidden”: the tool tells you the layer to pause at for the sticker and the layer for the filament change.
What if I change business or listing?
The link is stored in the code, so you’d print a new stand. The NFC sticker can be rewritten as long as you haven’t locked it.
