Paste your link, choose the two colors and download the 3MF file ready to print. It comes with a hole for the ring and a raised code that really scans.

This tool needs JavaScript enabled to generate the code and the 3D model. The rest of the page works normally.

1 · What should the code open

Your website, your Instagram, your contact card or the event invitation… If you don't type https:// we add it for you.

2 · Dot style
3 · The two colors

These are the colors of the printed object: one for the base and one for the raised code and text.

4 · Code center (optional)

On the 3D object the logo is raised, in a single piece, in the code color.

5 · The 3D object
Format

Short and clear: your business name or a call to action. You can include an emoji: it is raised too. Up to 22 characters.

70 mm

The bigger, the easier to scan. Make sure it fits on your print bed.

The 3MF file is the recommended format: it contains both colors and both parts. The STL is for older printers and software: two files without color.

100% private. The code, the model and the file are generated inside your browser. Your link, your logo and your wifi password are never uploaded to any server.

How it works

In 3 steps, no 3D design skills needed

1

Paste what you want it to open

Your Instagram, your website, your catalog, the speaker's LinkedIn profile or a wedding video. The shorter the link, the bigger the squares and the better it scans.

2

Pick colors and add a name

One color for the tag and another for the raised code. You can add a short text below and put your logo or an emoji in the center.

3

Download and print

The 3MF opens in your printer's slicer with both parts already placed and colored. A 45 mm keychain takes about half an hour.

Ideas

What QR keychains are used for

It's the cheapest format to hand out and the one that stays with people the longest.

Trade fairs and conferences

Handing out keychains at a booth works far better than business cards: the card ends up in the hotel bin, the keychain goes home on the keys with your website inside.

Weddings and celebrations

A keychain linking to the shared photo gallery, the gift list or the party playlist. A cheap keepsake that nobody throws away.

A business card that doesn't get lost

Your LinkedIn profile or your website on a keychain. For sales reps and freelancers tired of reprinting cards every time a phone number changes.

A gift with every order

A keychain linking to the manual, the assembly video or a discount code for the next purchase. It costs cents of filament.

Clubs and fan groups

The match calendar, the WhatsApp group or the club shop. They sell well at the clubhouse for 2 or 3 euros.

Tag for backpacks and suitcases

With a contact number inside, so whoever finds it can call you without your details written in plain sight.

What the keychain is like inside

The piece is a rounded plate 3 mm thick with a 4.5 mm hole at the top, sized so any standard keyring fits without forcing it. On top, the code rises 1.2 mm: enough for a clean filament change and for the phone camera to tell the squares apart by color contrast, which is what a QR reader actually reads.

You can choose a size between 30 and 80 mm. Below 40 mm the code gets cramped, so the tool shows you live how many millimeters each square measures and turns red if it drops below 1.5 mm.

Which size to choose

  • 35-40 mm — the reasonable minimum, and only with very short links. Discreet, fits on any keyring.
  • 45 mm — the balance we set by default. It scans without bringing the phone close and is still comfortable in a pocket.
  • 55-60 mm — for long links or if you also want to add the business name below the code.

Filament and finish

PLA is more than enough: it's cheap, doesn't warp in a pocket and prints well on any printer. If the keychain will live in a car or hang outdoors, PETG handles sun better. Avoid glitter or silk filaments for the code: they shine and confuse the camera.

The most reliable combination is a light base and a dark code. If you do it the other way round (light code on a dark base) most phones still read it, but some older readers fail, and the tool warns you about it.

How long it takes and what it costs

A 45 mm keychain at 0.2 mm layer height prints in about 20 to 35 minutes and uses around 4 grams of filament, so we're talking cents per unit. If you're handing out lots, put eight or ten on the same plate: the printer makes them in one go and the time per piece drops a lot.

Since it's a flat part with no overhangs, it needs no supports. Just make sure you print it with the code side up, which is how it's placed in the file.

FAQ

What people ask before printing

Which ring do I need for the keychain?
Any standard one. The hole is 4.5 mm in diameter, the usual size for the 25 or 30 mm split rings sold in any hardware or variety store. If yours is thicker, make the keychain a little bigger and the hole grows in proportion.
Does such a small keychain scan well?
Yes, as long as each square measures at least 1.5 mm, and that depends more on the length of the link than on the size of the piece. The tool shows you the real size while you design and warns you if the link is too long. With a short link, a 40 mm keychain reads without trouble.
Can I put my logo on the keychain?
Yes. Upload it and it will appear in the center of the code, raised and in the code color. Since it prints in a single color, it automatically becomes a silhouette: logos with clear shapes come out much better than those with gradients or lots of fine detail.
How many can I print at once?
As many as fit on your bed. Download the file once, open it in your slicer and duplicate the part as many times as you like. About twenty 45 mm keychains fit comfortably on a 25 × 25 cm bed.
Can I sell them?
Yes. The codes and models you generate are yours, with no watermark or download limit, and you can sell them. Just make sure you have permission for the logo or brand you put in the center.
What if the link changes over time?
The link is printed into the plastic and can't be changed. If you expect it to change, point the QR to an intermediate address you control —your own short link or a page of yours that redirects— so you can change the destination without reprinting.
